Empowering Church Leadership

Good Morning, Team,

Here's the latest from the Johnson family!

Addressing False Teaching

There has been a lot of chatter in the Thai church over some theologically problematic ministries that have come to the country.  These aren't just normal theological differences between different denominations or biblical views.  The problematic ministries do real damage to the church and the relationship the church has with the rest of Thai society.

Some of the effects of these groups has made its way into local churches.  One of our Thai ministry partners has asked me, on a number of occasions, to write answers to important questions their church elders are asking.  For example, should churches have times of prayer during public worship when everyone prays out loud at the same time?  What is real, biblical revival?  What do these different ministry leaders teach and how should we respond to their teaching?

Elders in these churches have been thankful for my responses.  I’m often humbled at the role I’ve been given to play in the lives of these churches, helping their leadership guide and protect their congregations.

Please be in prayer for the Thai church as they address the influence that false teaching has on the lives of every day believers.

Teammates:

We are very excited that, after a very long time in the US transitioning from short term to long term status, our teammate Julia Sloan will be returning to Thailand at the end of April!

Julia will return to teaching at Grace International School as a reading specialist.  We can’t wait to have her back with us.  Please praise God with us for her return!

Miles and Hannah Hillman are still working on raising support so they can come and join our team as well.  They will be joining us in our facilitative church planting work.  Lord willing, we are hopeful that they will be able to join us around November 2025.  Please pray for them and their 2 young daughters as they prepare to move to Thailand!

Thank you so much for you love, prayers, and partnership in this ministry in Thailand.

Blessings,

Ben and Becca Johnson

Love Is...
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant. 1 Corinthians 13:4 On Valentine’s Day, Becca and another missionary hosted a Ladies’ night, celebrating the love Christ has for us and we have for each other.  We enjoyed mookata (grilled meat) together, decorated heart-shaped cookies to serve at church the next day and built mini Lego flowers.  This event was a kick of...
A Very Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year from the Johnson family!
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel" As our family has celebrated the season of Advent throughout the years, our hearts have been drawn to different themes.  One year it was reflecting on Christ’s birth through Mary’s eyes, another year was focused on the Prince of Peace.  This year’s theme is IMMAN...
May the Peoples Praise You!
The Joy of Worship What stirs your heart to burst and your face to smile during worship?  One of my favorites is the sound of young children singing praises loudly and unabashedly to their Father and King.  Can you hear it?   This past Sunday, a little boy in our church joined the congregational singing with gusto and innocent joy.  I couldn't help but grin and sing a little harmony along with ...
